homeland security. Bechtel currently manages the Mobile Launcher 2
(ML2) project at Kennedy Space Center, FL. The ML2 Project involves
the design and construction of the National Aeronautics and Space
Administration (NASA) launch platform for the for the Space Launch
System (SLS), an advanced launch vehicle that will fill America’s
need for deep space missions. ML2 includes many different
subsystems that must operate and fit within the constraints of the
structure and provide physical interface with KSC launch sites’
This position may work a schedule of rotating shifts including
nights, weekends, or holidays as business needs arise. All
employees are subject to and agree to random drug and alcohol
testing as a condition of continued employment for the duration of
their assignment. The ability to obtain/maintain access to the
facility is required.
Assigned to the Construction organization in a supervisory
capacity. Responsible for supervising and directing operations of
construction craft personnel. Supervises and directs Construction
craft activities assigned to ML2. Ensures assigned construction
operations are performed safely, in compliance with specifications
and within budget and schedules. Performs general functions
inherent in all supervisory construction (field) positions.
Responsible for managing craft personnel in adherence to the
Project Labor Agreement (PLA).
Coordinates with Engineering on constructability issues and

discipline. Responsible for effective direct hire execution of all
electrical commodities – Cable Tray, Conduit, Cable-pulling,
Terminations and Electrical Equipment installation.
Determines workforce requirements.
Coordinates established area operational plans.
Schedules work to be performed and reviews work accomplished by
each craft and subordinate superintendents.
Monitors work activities and ensures the quality of work
Ensures the most current design document is used to complete the
work and that all design changes are approved prior to

Prepares reports and forecasts, including summary of
construction progress, craft personnel forecasts, and expenditures
Monitors tool usage on the site and prepares Field Material
Requisitions for tools and consumables and ensures that the crafts
have the tools they require to be productive.
Monitors the activities of subcontractors and direct hire craft
to ensure compliance with specifications and schedules.
Responsible for the implementation of corporate/project
policies, procedures and instructions within assigned
Coordinates activities with other disciplines or areas and
clients’ resident representatives, as instructed by construction
Performs employee reviews and identifies training and
development opportunities for subordinate personnel.
Ensures that Bechtel and local/national safety codes,
requirements and standards are being complied with within assigned
area of responsibility. Ensures the Zero Accident Philosophy is
incorporated into every aspect of construction operation. Actively
participates in scheduled safety meetings.
Knowledge of a single or multi-discipline construction or

Knowledge of the Project ES&H Handbook, the Supervisors
ES&H Manual, the Project Safety Management Plan and the Bechtel
Knowledge of supervisory functions relating to field
Knowledge of Standard Work Process Procedures (SWPPs).
Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet and database
applications in accordance with current Bechtel Standard
Application Program (BSAP) standards.
Demonstrated leadership in a team-based environment.
Knowledge of the use of subcontracts, and the contractor and
subcontractor’s responsibilities contained in subcontract
Experience working with, supervising and administering
subcontractors and/or Direct Hire workforce.
Experience working with, supervising USA Building Trades
B.S. Degree in Engineering or similar and 9 years of experience
in field supervision, construction, design engineering and/or
In lieu of a degree, 15 years of experience in field
supervision, construction, material controls, design engineering,
and/or related experience
Must be physically able to conduct field inspections and
participate in project walk-downs which require the following
activities: extensive walking in and around a construction site,
climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, walking on elevated
platforms, walking on surfaces, maneuvering around very small
and/or confined spaces and lifting up to 40lbs.
Must have the right to work in the US without sponsorship
Must be able to obtain and maintain any security clearances
required for this position
Preferred Qualifications :
Recent Bechtel experience as an Electrical Superintendent or
Lead Electrical Field Superintendent at a large EPC Project
Working knowledge of the Bechtel Standard Work Processes
Procedures (SWPPs) and the related Bechtel Standard application
Programs (BSAPs) utilized by Construction
