Boeing Defense, Space & Security's (BDS) X-37B is the United States' most advanced, state-of-the-art reentry space craft. Boeing is the prime contractor for the X-37B Orbital Test Vehicle (OTV), an unmanned space vehicle that is used by the United States Air Force to explore reusable space vehicle technologies in support of long-term space objectives.
We are seeking a Launch and Recovery Senior Manager who will be located at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Objectives of the X-37B program include space experimentation, risk reduction, and concept of operations development. Managed by Experimental Systems Group (ESG), a unit of Boeing Space and Launch Systems, the X-37B is a flexible, affordable and responsive platform balancing the characteristics of a spacecraft and an aircraft. Responsible for leading, developing, and motivating a multi-discipline team in that performs launch and recovery operations at ESG facilities in Florida and recovery operations at the backup site in California.
Oversee development of people, processes, tools, and training required for the execution of ESG program objectives related to launch and recovery of ESG assets.
Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports. Manage relationships with launch vehicle providers and the KSC, CCAFS, and VAFB range organizations.
Establish metrics of safety, first time quality, productivity, and affordability and use these metrics as a basis for continuous measurable improvement.
Forecast resource needs and obtain and manage personnel, facilities, services, equipment and tools to meet project and daily operating requirements.
Ensure workgroup products or processes meet customer, company, quality, industry and regulatory requirements.
Support new business activities, providing input and data to proposals based on actual costs incurred on past projects.
Enforce company rules and policies regarding ethical behavior, safety, security, use of company property, time charging, etc.

Basic Qualifications (Required):
10 or more years of experience leading spacecraft program activities in a multi-disciplinary environment.
Demonstrated history of leadership
Experience developing new business proposal inputs.
Willing and able to travel approximately 25%
Current and active Top Secret Clearance
Experience/domain knowledge of ESG (Experimental Systems Group)
Experience/domain knowledge of spacecraft to launch vehicle processing and flight operations
Experience/domain knowledge of Space Shuttle or aircraft flight test operations and training
Current SSBI investigation
This position requires an active Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)
