Accounts Payable ManagerPrimary FunctionThe Accounts Payable
Manager is responsible for managing all Acuity International
Accounts Payable processes and supervision of all Accounts Payable
team members. Responsible for all day-to-day work activities
related to Accounts Payable including interfacing with internal
organizations and outside vendors. Job requires knowledge and use
of internal systems (METS) as well as all Accounts Payable
processes in Costpoint.Reports to Director of Accounting Shared
Services.Responsibilities
- Manage, supervise, and coach the AP team.
- Hiring, training, assigning, and directing the workflow of the
AP team.
- Balance workloads among the AP team with appropriate team
backup supported by cross training.
- Complete performance reviews for the AP team to include
assessment of required supervision, training and performance
improvement plans.
- Develop and maintain AP operating and productivity KPI's. Speak
with data.
- Ensure AP team meets accuracy and productivity standards by
reviewing reporting, training, developing, and implementing
initiatives to improve overall team accuracy and productivity.
- Interact on a regular basis with upper management and external
customers as well as other internal departments.
- Ensure Disbursement controls and procedures related to checks,
wires, and other electronic payments are in place and
monitored.
- Ensure timely Year-end 1099 reporting is completed.
- Support year-end financial audits and other audits that may
arise.
- Establish and maintain internal controls and procedures and
determine new controls or procedures that address the growth of the
company.
- Ensure compliance with company policies.
- Other special assignments as assigned by the Controller and
other senior managers.Qualifications
- BA/BS in Business with an emphasis in Accounting or qualified
by appropriate Accounts Payable work experience.
- Five (5)+ years prior supervisory experience in the Accounts
Payable area.
- Experience with Deltek Costpoint or other large, automated
accounting systems is a strong plus.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including but not
limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong interpersonal, supervisory and customer service skills
required.
- Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines
required.
- Willingness to learn new skills.
- Team oriented person who can focus both on the details and the
"big picture".
- Proven results-oriented goals with a proactive management style
to implement new processes.
- Knowledge of accounting principles related to Accounts
Payable.
- Ability to work outside standard work hours at short notice
when dictated by company emergency regarding critical vendor
services.
- Ability to communicate company practices with senior
executives, vendors, contractors, and company employees.
- Able to work with a process improvement mindset and in a fast
paced, changing environment.Job Requirements
