Job Description:
The Director of Communication's principal responsibility is to
achieve reach and engagement through earned media. The role is also
instrumental in managing public perception of our company, which
incorporates developing messaging and communication strategies. You
are responsible for always preserving the integrity and perception
of our brand. Additionally, this role is responsible for increasing
awareness and affinity of the Space Perspective brand at local and
global events, with Explorers, and in media projects through public
relations, social messaging, email campaigns, and speaking
preparation. Manage inbound media requests to align with internally
developed SPI's brand messaging.Core Accountabilities and Essential
Functions
- Advise Co-CEO and Head of Marketing on strategic communications
opportunities, both proactive and reactive.
- Ability to identify great storytelling opportunities for the
company and develop communication strategies to tell those
stories.
- Leverage data, consumer insights, and third-marketing
intelligence to evaluate and leverage emerging trends in Space and
Travel across the nation and targeted international markets.
- Establish and align with SPI Studio to drive a multi-channel
communications strategy and distribution across earned, shared, and
owned channels. Assist in the creation of photo, video, audio, and
editorial/print content.
- Develop, prepare, and manage all communications material around
Space Perspective and its key milestones.
- Develop and implement SPI's brand voice and maintain brand
integrity across all platforms in alignment with the Marketing
team.
- Build relationships and conduct outreach on behalf of the
company across various media verticals (e.g., business, tech,
lifestyle/travel, etc.) and print, broadcast, digital, and other
industry-specific outlets.
- Experience in corporate communications as it pertains to
executive preparedness, media training and coaching, and crisis
response planning.
- Management of SPI's communications agency partners and
consultants to maximize their efficiency, effectiveness, and
consistency of SPI messaging.Required Education and Experience ---
4-year degree from an accredited college or university in
communications, marketing, or related discipline. --- A minimum of
8 years of relevant experience working in domains such as PR,
marketing, and/or advertising.Required Qualifications --- Proven
work experience as a Communication's Leader in a lifestyle brand.
--- Demonstrated expertise and proficiency with communications
technologies, including media performance measurement, analysis,
and executive reporting. --- Solid understanding of principles of
copywriting, graphic design, layout, and publishing. --- Impeccable
copywriting and editing abilities. --- Live and represent the Space
